BACK FOR NEWCASTLE

The star striker of Manchester United, Wayne Rooney, is expected to make a comeback for his team in the Capital One Cup match against Newcastle United which is going to be played at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Rooney hasn’t played any match for United since the last one month. He had injured his thigh severely while playing in the match against Fulham. But, he has recovered from that injury now. He has been practicing since the last 5 days and there is a good possibility of him featuring in the match against Newcastle United.
However, Sir Alex Ferguson hasn’t confirmed that Rooney is going to play against Newcastle United. When asked about Rooney’s fitness, Ferguson said, “Rooney has made a very quick recovery and he is almost fit.”

“I saw him in the training sessions and he was looking all right. He was moving well and that’s a good sign. I am not sure if he will play against Newcastle, but, he will definitely be back for the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.”

Rooney’s injury hasn’t affected the performance of Manchester United in the ongoing season. After losing to Everton in the first match of the season, the team has won five matches in a row. The strikers who got the opportunity in the absence of Rooney delivered for the team and didn’t let the team miss Rooney.

Meanwhile, Ferguson also made it clear that Darren Fletcher will be included in the starting line up of the team against Newcastle. Fletcher had played as substitute in the Champions League encounter against Galatasaray on 19th of September.

Ferguson said, “Fletcher looked good against Galatasaray and he will start the match against Newcastle. He hasn’t started any match since the last 10 months. So, the Wednesday’s match is going to be an important match for him”.
