GOAL VOTED BEST EVER

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney's goal against Manchester City only a few months has been voted as the best goal in the 20 seasons of the Premier league.

Rooney scored a wonderful bicycle kick, which was nominated in the goal of the past two decades category.

The Premier league is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Wayne Rooney's goal has nominated alongside Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp's goal against Newcastle back in 2002 and also the wonderful strike from Arsenal striker Thierry Henry against Manchester United in 2000. This is the second time a Manchester United player has won the award after David Beckham won the 10 year celebratory award for his goal against Wimbledon in 2002.

Wayne Rooney scored a bicycle kick from a Nani cross against Manchester City at Old Trafford. His goal recorded 26% of the votes, while Dennis Bergkamp's sublime skills and finish against Newcastle turned him 19% of the votes. Meanwhile, Arsenal striker Thierry Henry recorded 15% of the votes for this remarkable goal against Manchester United. Thierry Henry received the ball from the outside of the box with his back to goal. He managed to stun everyone with an audacious long-range effort from about 25 yards out of the goal with his back to goal.

"I grew up watching the Premier League so to be voted the best goal in the history of the Premier League is a great feeling. There's so many good goals in that shortlist, goals that I watched in my living room as a kid: Alan Shearer's goal, Paolo Di Canio's, Tony Yeboah's, David Beckham's. To be competing with them and winning is a great honour for me and something I'm very proud of. I'd like to say a big thank you to all the fans that voted for me," Rooney said.
