RUMOURS SURFACE AGAIN

The rumours linking star striker Wayne Rooney with a move away from Old Trafford have featured once again after the French club Paris St Germain admitted that the 27-year-old is one of the best in the world.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said that they really admire the quality of the striker, but they have not made any official approach with Manchester United. PSG are one of the strongest clubs in Europe when it comes to the transfer market due to the backing of the Qatari owners. The club has invested more than £ 200 million of their money in the transfer market over the last few seasons.

This has enabled them to bring in the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Beckham, which would have not been responsible. Rooney has been uncertain that United this season partly because of the arrival of Robin van Persie and partly because of his poor form. The 27-year-old has been criticised for not being in great shape this season. However, he has managed to find the back of the net on 12 occasions from the 21 appearances he has made this season.
There have also been rumours linking Rooney with a move to archrivals Manchester city. The player has only a couple of years left on his current contract.

"He is a great player, he is one of the best strikers in the world. I think everybody would like to have him but, if you want to talk about the fact, we didn't approach him," said that PSG president in an interview given to Sky Sports. Rooney has also been linked with several other clubs like Real Madrid as well. There have also been suggestions that Manchester United, who took great lengths to sign the striker on a new contract a few years ago, are willing to sell the player.
